Film about Finnish reindeer herders

Stumbled upon this review article the other day on a feature documentary film about two FInnish reindeer herders, which looks interesting.

Aatsinki: The Story of Arctic Cowboys observes a year in the life of the two brothers Aarne and Lasse Aatsinki, reindeer herders who live well north of the Arctic Circle in Finnish Lapland. “Aatsinki follows the brothers and their family, quietly observing their seasonal routines and the difficulties and joys of a life so closely tied to the land.”

We source all our reindeer hides from Finland because of the assured quality we get from these collectives ofreindeer herders, which are well-managed as part of the Finnish herding association. It’s also good to know its supporting a trade and livelihood for people living in this remote and harsh climate of northern-most Finland.

We know some of our customers are interested in the provenance of our reindeer skins and the story behind them, so this film looks like a great insight.

Aatsinki: The Story of Arctic Cowboys is currently showing in America and although no UK screenings are scheduled yet, you can pre-order the DVD in the website's shop .
